No Place Like Holmes book 1.
It seems fitting that the young detective Griffin Sharpe could be the nephew of the best private investigator in all of England… Sherlock Holmes! But why hasn't his mother mentioned anything? While disappointed when he discovers that his uncle only lives next door to Mr. Holmes, he loses no time to get himself caught up in an exciting mystery!
First of all, the characters were very well described. Some were funny (like Griffin's uncle) and others were creepy (like Professor Moriarty). Every description was written very vividly. Sometimes, I even felt like I was really there. As for the pacing, it was somewhat slow at the beginning, but when Griffin started trying to solve the mystery, it really picked up speed.
The plot was slightly predictable but it was also suspenseful, creepy, exciting and a little bit humorous. The Griffin Sharpe Mini-Mysteries were a nice surprise. They were short and funny, but also a bit predictable as well. Overall, this book was very enjoyable; a nice, quick read.
